IDA President’s end-of-year 2023 speech

Dear IDA voluntaries and members,

I hope that this message finds you and yours well and safe.

As we are approaching the end of 2023, we look back at yet another turbulent and volatile year for countries and people around the world, mainly in Africa.

During escalating global crises, IDA has responded to the call for a rescue plan for people and planet, remaining steadfast in the commitment towards the Organization Goals, our blueprint towards a better Africa, for everyone, everywhere.

Guided by IDA’s plan of action (NourDign Philosophy), the Organization has worked towards getting the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development back on track by supporting numerous intergovernmental processes and events including the UN Water Conference, the High-level Dialogue on Financing Development, CSW68, and more.

The First IDA priority for the 2024 is the launch of the most important Marketplace for Agriculture African products. The IDA Marketplace will be the continent’s most important showcase for Africa and the rest of the World. Our agricultural producers will be able to more easily enhance and sell their products, the buyers around the world will buy with the guarantee of our certification, NourDign. The Platform development will be done and managed by our excellent IDA Digital Team that will share with the Organization the futures revenues, considering that the main part of the economic results will be deployed for the development of IDA main projects.

In 2023 IDA has continued to shape negotiations, partnership, stressing solidarity and a just, inclusive, and sustainable response to the crises, through its roles as African NGO. We also continued to share our data, analysis and policy advice with a global audience, through the connections we have with Union Nation, European Union and several African Governments.

You can learn more about IDA main activities and efforts to advance the long-term goal of shared prosperity on a healthy planet and Africa Continent in News – IDA International .

As we now close the chapter on 2023, I would like to take this opportunity to convey my warm thanks to you for your continued loyal activity and for following and supporting IDA’s work. I’m honored, grateful and proud to have you with us and look forward to continuing our journey to deliver sustainable development for all; I remember you that we are looking for leaders and people who propose initiatives.
Stay tuned!

In the meantime, I wish you all, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year! Stay well and think as a Leader!

Andrea Giannetto

IDA President
