Year-End Speech by the IDA President

A

Dear IDA Voluntaries,

As we close out 2024, I am filled with both gratitude and optimism. Gratitude for the incredible work we have done together, and optimism for the opportunities and challenges that the 2025 will bring.

This year, we have made tremendous strides in our mission to give IDA the good visibility and presence on the Web and on the various Meeting and Forums that we have attended around the World. From the projects we’ve implemented to the partnerships we’ve forged, your unwavering dedication and passion have made all the difference. In the 2024 the main topics we’ve been supporting are the Women Empowerment, the Gender Equality, the Human Rights, the impact of the Artificial Intelligence in Africa, the Environment and the Agriculture; every success is a testament to your hard work and commitment. We have organized some International Meetings with Associations, Governments, Civil Society and Entrepreneurs, we ha attended several Union Nations Forums also as speakers, we have organized with Ivory Coast the Macfrut an important agriculture trade show.

But as we reflect on what we’ve accomplished, we must also look forward. The work we do is never done, and the need for our efforts has never been greater. As we approach the coming year, we are filled with excitement about what lies ahead. Together, we will continue to make a profound impact, and here’s what you can expect in the year to come:

Our Priorities for the Coming Year:

  1. Expanding Our Reach: In the coming year, we will focus on expanding our outreach to even more communities in need. This means not only growing our programs but also increasing our efforts to raise awareness of the issues we care about, amplifying the voices of those who need to be heard. Improve the way to communicate on-line and off-line.
  2. Innovative Approaches to Problem-Solving: We will continue to explore innovative solutions to the challenges we face. Whether it’s through new technologies, partnerships, or creative approaches, we are committed to ensuring that our initiatives are as impactful and sustainable as possible. Use the technology and the Team work to deal with the daily opportunities.
  3. Strengthening Partnerships: We recognize that we cannot do this work alone. In the new year, we will continue to build strong, collaborative partnerships with like-minded organizations, government agencies, and businesses. Together, we will pool our resources, ideas, and efforts to create lasting change. The collaboration with the Union Nations will have new evolutions.
  4. Advocacy for Policy Change: We will intensify our advocacy efforts, working at local, national, and international levels to influence policy and legislation that can create broader systemic change.
  5. Organize and attend events: In 2025 we’ll attend to several National and International events organized by Union Nation, European Community and Governments. We’ll organize at least 3 main events: In January the Italia Africa Business Week, in May for the third time the Macfrut in collaboration with the Ivory Coast Government, in October the Africa Italy B2B, with 400 Entrepreneurs, the Italians and Africans Institutions.

Our Strategic Activity for the 2025:

  1. The African Marketplace: At the beginning of the 2024 we have started the Marketplace development and at the moment we are well on our way, but takes time and human resources to finalize the first stage. We have just selected a new team of voluntaries experts to accelerate the process and refine the work done. The Marketplace will be focused on the promotion and commercialization of the African agri-food products. In the 2026 more than 1.500 voluntaries will works for the Marketplace and around 1 Million African farmers will be registered. We are working for a great future.

How You Can Get Involved:

None of this can happen without your continued support, passion, and participation. Here are just a few ways you can get involved:

  • Volunteer: We will continue to rely on the skills, talents, and time of our volunteers. If you’re looking for ways to engage, there will be many opportunities to join us in hands-on work, mainly on our communication initiatives.
  • Fundraise: As always, financial support is crucial to sustaining and expanding our efforts. We encourage you to help us raise funds, whether through individual donations, hosting events, or corporate partnerships.
  • Spread the Word: Our collective voice is a powerful tool. You can help by sharing our mission, vision, and updates with your networks, helping us reach new supporters and allies.
  • Stay Informed: In the coming months, we will be launching new campaigns, events, and initiatives. Stay connected with us through social media, our website, and newsletters to keep updated on how you can help. You could also participate to the Union Nations Events online or in presence.

A Closing Note of Gratitude

Before we move forward, I want to express my deepest thanks to each of you. Whether you have been with us for years or are a new supporter, your contributions matter. It is your passion, your ideas, and your commitment that make this organization what it is. Together, we are a force for good, and I am proud of all we’ve achieved.

As we embark on another year of work, let us be guided by our shared vision and our unwavering belief in the power of community, collaboration, and compassion. Together, we can overcome any obstacle and create the change we wish to see in the world.

Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey. Here’s to a successful and impactful year ahead!

Happy Holidays, and see you in the new year!
