GUED’BEACH Senegal

Dakar, 27 October – In collaboration with the Ministry of Youth, Employment and Entrepreneurship, Sobel Aziz NGOM, CEO of Consortium Jeunesse Sénégal set up GUED’BEACH, an innovative project to develop the beautiful Guédiawaye beach for the benefit of young people from the suburbs.
Gued’Beach is an integrated project, with a sports park, a leisure park and a green park aimed at providing an accessible, pleasant and safe environment for young people (but not only) from the surrounding neighbourhoods.
This innovative project in the field of Social and Solidarity Economies; built on a PPPJ (Public-Private-Youth Partnership) model will create 450 jobs over the next 3 years via 43 economic units. Like everything we do, young people will not only be beneficiaries, they will be the main levers and actors. We will come back in more detail on this beautiful project soon.
Yesterday morning, I had the pleasure, alongside Mr. Pape Malick Ndour, Minister of Youth, Employment and Entrepreneurship, and members of the Consortium Jeunesse Sénégal, to welcome to the Yaakaar Space of the CDEPS of Guédiawaye the visit of the French Minister Chrysoula Zacharopoulou, Secretary of State for Development, Francophonie and International Partnerships, whose representation in Senegal is the first financial partner of the Gued’Beach project.
This meeting was also an opportunity for some SJC members to present to the authorities present the incredible work carried out in their various fields of action. We talked about digital issues and education with Ousseynou Gueye of Polaris Asso, culture with Fama Ndiaye of Centre Yennenga, Social and Solidarity Economy with Mamba SOUARE, vocational training and integration with Ndeye BITEYE of Simplon and Entrepreneurship with Fatou kine Diop of the SJC.
