KAPEL-MARCOVICI Danièle, PAGEOT Stéphanie, ROUILLÉ D’ORFEUIL Henri, SHIVA Vandana. For the past 15 years, the RAJA-Danièle Marcovici Foundation has been committed to the empowerment of women worldwide. The foundation is organising a round table on “Women & Environment, actions for the emancipation of women in agricultural and food transition”. The major international agreements highlight the need to set the world on a sustainable path that includes transforming production and consumption conditions, changing agriculture and food models, and increasing the involvement of women in social and economic life. In many countries, women are promoting more sustainable agricultural and food production and marketing practices through their knowledge and initiatives. In particular, they are involved in agroecology projects, as well as in seed preservation and selection. Building a more ecologically and socially sustainable world means strengthening these initiatives and making them visible.
