Siracusa, 26 September – Mr. Yves Ablé IDA member has attends to the G7 Agriculture introducing some projects and the NourDign concept. The G7 Agriculture in Ortigia was a crucial moment to strengthen cooperation between the G7 countries and the African continent. During the opening session, the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests, Francesco Lollobrigida, welcomed the delegations present, expressing his pride in Sicily’s historic hospitality. “This land best expresses the history, culture and traditions of our nation and offers us the ideal context to discuss the future of the agri-food sector,” said Lollobrigida, thanking the representatives of African countries and international organizations for their participation.
The forum marked the first time that African representatives were invited to actively participate in a G7 Agriculture, giving voice to a necessary and urgent dialogue on common challenges. Lollobrigida highlighted the importance of the discussion as a fundamental step to strengthen cooperation and dialogue, with the hope that concrete commitments towards increasingly sustainable agricultural and food systems will emerge. “We want to work together to achieve the goal of zero hunger,” the minister stressed.
Italy, in its role of Presidency, has decided to focus on some priority areas, including:
