Bruxelles, 6 June – Digital Transformation: an opportunity for women in Africa, how new technologies can contribute to boost female entrepreneurship. The digital transformation of the African continent is a fast-growing source of new opportunities for women. However, the digital gender gap remains significant: only 36% of women in Sub-Saharan Africa owned a mobile phone in 2015 according to the GSMA. With concrete examples, the session will illustrate how to tackle barriers to digital inclusion faced by women, and how multi-sector partnerships can leverage ICT for gender equality.
