Dakar, 1 February – The press conference marking the start of Abilympics activities in Senegal was held yesterday after a long run of more than a year since the official launch in Oussouye (Senegal) in December 2021.
The Abilympics are, in the trades, what the Olympic Games represent in sport. They are characterized by the holding of competitions reserved for people with disabilities at the international level after national selections. The main objective is to strengthen the positive visibility of people with disabilities by highlighting their professional skills and autonomy.
We reiterate our thanks to the steering committee composed of Académie Diplomatique Africaine, the Ministries of Health and Social Action and Vocational Training, Learning and Integration, the National Federation of Persons with Disabilities of Senegal, Special Olympics Senegal and the Handicap.sn Association for their trust and the coordination entrusted to Social Change Factory by appointing Cheikh Ahmed Tidiane Diouf Secretary General of Abilympics Senegal.
