Dakar, 27 January 2026 – iGFM (Dakar) The Initiative for the Development of Africa (IDA) has announced the appointment of Ms Oumy NDOUR as Commissioner for the IDA Infinity Africa Circle program. This appointment makes her the first female commissioner in Africa. Oumy NDOUR, a journalist, documentary filmmaker and communications specialist by training, has an exceptional background that makes her well suited for this position. She worked for more than 12 years at Radiodiffusion Télévision Sénégalaise (RTS) and has covered numerous national and international events. She is also the author of several documentaries and is committed to protecting the rights of women and children. As IDA Commissioner for Infinity Circle, her role will be to promote the organization’s vision, support the development of strategic impact projects and represent IDA’s mission to the most influential bodies and communities. IDA is a non-governmental organization that works for the sustainable socio-economic development of the African continent through international cooperation programs, capacity building and the promotion of entrepreneurship and culture.
