Initiative Against Human Trafficking in Ghana

Tolon (Ghana), 16 May – On the 16th May,2023, Centre for Initiative Against Human Trafficking (CIAHT) and IDA Ghana presented introduction letter to the Tolon District Director of Education (Ghana Education Service – GES) for permission to carry out anti-human trafficking activities in twelve selected schools in the Tolon district. The organization begun holding meeting with the Twelve (12) School Parent Teachers Association and School Management Committee from 12th to 28th July 2023. To brief school management authorities about the project and also seek for their approval of the project and also their full participation. All Headmistress/master and school teachers had agreed to be involved in the activities, since human trafficking involves all people living in country and the world as large. Eight out of the twelve (12) schools pupils received first initial briefing on anti-human trafficking, that is the causes and effects. IDA GHANA Staff and School club patron had told the pupils to contact their school’s club’s patron and write down names, form, class and their village or town name for data collection of memberships.
