Economic Empowerment of Women through Innovation and Sustainable Development Goals

New York, 7 March – Mrs. Cecilia Olivero, IDA member has attend this year to several CSW67 meetings, one of them is the Economic Empowerment of Women through Innovation and Sustainable Development Goals. Speakers Carol Hanlon introduced the topic of discussion and moderated the floor for several other global speakers such as Onder Senol, Sara Azimi, Zaneta Mascaranas, Maria Aziz, Alida Perkov, Rachel Hanlon, Giselle Rufer, Dr Sheeba Armoogum, Khadiga Eltazi, Nageswaree Kodai and Jasmyn Mumme.
Onder Senol (DeFacto, Turkey), presented the major projects by DeFacto (clothing company leader in gender equality in Turkey): supporting women’s empowerment and equal opportunities in decision-making positions. Programs to develop leadership for gender equality, actively ensure a balanced ratio between employees based on gender. Supporting not only women’s empowerment but also children’s and girls’ education, sending the leftovers of fabrics to schools where young girls can create their clothes and sell them. The income would then be 100% directed to charity organisations. The other interventions are available on demand.
